Care Network Capacity

Many older adults want to age in community but lack the support needed to do so, especially in rural areas. AGE+ supports communities in building and enhancing volunteer care networks to provide a “little help” like grocery shopping, social calls, and light chores. Essential to our model is providing opportunities for older adults to contribute their talents as well.

Circles of Care

This AGE+ program pairs older Oregonians in the Columbia River Gorge with local volunteers to assist with everyday tasks. Older adults also have opportunities to give back as part of this model.

AGE+ established Circles of Care in The Dalles in 2019. Through a partnership with Hood River Valley Adult Center and Providence Hood River, a Circle was also formed in the Hood River Valley. As we ramp up our housing project in Madras, we will also establish a Circle in that community.

For more information or to participate in Circles of Care either as a volunteer or client, please contact one of our community liaisons based on your area:

Hood River and The Dalles: Rita Rathkey or Scott McKay at or (541) 397-0724

Madras: Olivia Robinson at or (541) 264-5570 (Hablo Español)
