Our Story and Model

OUR STORY

AGE+ was created to champion a new vision for successful and equitable aging for all Oregonians by empowering communities, linking generations and stimulating innovation to make longer life an opportunity, not a burden. We grew from our companion organization, the Jessie F. Richardson Foundation’s, desire to expand and focus on programming in Oregon, particularly in rural and suburban areas where most older adults live. For more about the Jessie F. Richardson Foundation, please visit www.jfrfoundation.org

AGE+ became a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization in 2018 and is funded by individual, corporate and foundation donors, in addition to grants and contracts for services performed. The CEO, Board of Directors and Advisory Council receive no compensation for their work. AGE+ is registered in the state of Oregon and our EIN is 83-1758100.

OUR MODEL

AGE+ has a proven model and methodology to help communities develop a multi-generational, sustainable network of resources to support older adults. We utilize a theory of change model adapted using the principles of asset based community development. Our initiative work is rooted in a strengths-based approach focusing on existing resources that can be leveraged, and embracing the expertise of local community champions and those with lived experience to create immediate and long-term impact.
